Jacquie Roar Released "Pass the Pain"

Country powerhouse Jacquie Roar takes a bold step away from her high-octane sound with her latest release, “Pass the Pain,” a gut-wrenching ballad that marks Suicide Prevention Month. The song draws from personal tragedy, paying tribute to a close friend who lost their battle with mental health struggles after enduring emotional abuse. Roar’s raw lyrics shed light on the devastating impact of toxic relationships, with a chorus that hits hard: “The light inside of you was burned out for so long / But you did what you did when you did / And all you’ve done is pass the pain on.”

The song has quickly gained traction, with critics already singing its praises. Goldmine's Warren Kurtz called it, “not only my favorite song of Jacquie's so far, but also one of my favorite songs of 2024,” highlighting the delicate instrumentation and Roar’s emotionally charged vocal delivery. He adds that “‘Pass the Pain’ is award-worthy.”

Music City Melodies echoed this sentiment, noting that Roar’s stripped-back arrangement lets her vulnerability shine, making it “a hauntingly beautiful track that cuts straight to the core,” proving that Roar is both a captivating performer and a master storyteller.

Roar shared that the song was inspired by her late friend, who felt trapped in an abusive relationship. “Surviving the loss of someone you love is never easy,” she said. “This song speaks to the pain left behind.”

More than just a ballad, “Pass the Pain” is an anthem for anyone who has experienced loss. It underscores Roar’s ability to channel deep emotion while raising awareness about mental health. In line with the song’s message, Roar urges those struggling to seek help, highlighting resources like the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) and the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988).

Jacquie Roar has built a name for herself in the country music scene, sharing stages with legends like Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson. Known for her powerhouse voice and dynamic performances, she’s equally at home delivering emotional ballads that leave a lasting impact. Since the release of her debut single “Bad Habit” in February 2024, Roar’s ability to blend passion, storytelling, and raw emotion has captivated audiences. With over 300K streams and performances that include a historic appearance with Jelly Roll at the Oregon State Penitentiary, Jacquie Roar is proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
